Requirements  for Certification

Skillful Demonstration of:

• Ba Duan Jin 八段錦, Zhan Zhuang 站桩

• Taiji Warm Up Exercises

• Wudang Taiji Stances, Steps, and Hand Positions

• San Feng Wudang Taiji 28 Form
  
  

PRACTICAL LEARNING

• Be able to demonstrate and explain the qualities of excellence in taiji movement.

• Know the names of the 28 movements in the form in one’s native Language and preferably in Mandarin as well

• Be able to demonstrate martial applications of the movements

• Demonstrate skill in leading a group Practice and teaching the material

REQUIRED STEPS TO CERTIFICATION:

• Apply for and be accepted into the program

• Attend the training classes

• Participate in practice teaching sessions

• Pass the final Exam (Demonstration in front of a panel of Taiji Masters from Wudang Mt)

Apply to the Teacher Training Program

To be accepted into the program you will need to demonstrate basic skills in performing the Wudang Taiji 28 and Ba Duan Jin.

Applicants can either demonstrate live via Zoom or submit a video recording.

• October - March:

Bi-monthly (two times per month) practices and instruction

1) Am I automatically accepted into the program  if I submit a video of me demonstrating Ba Duan Jin and Taiji 28?

You must demonstrate, in the very least, that you remember the forms and demonstrate skill in/understanding of basic taiji principles. Master Bing will let you know if there is any problem.

2) Can I have Master Bing check my form and provide some coaching before I submit my video application?

Yes, you can arrange for a private lesson with Master Bing. If you have concerns regarding your video application,  and would like input from Master Bing first.

3) Is there an application fee?

$50 (US$)…  non-refundable.  If you are accepted into the program then that fee will be subtracted from the cost of the program.

4) What happens if Master Bing doesn’t accept my application?

Master Bing will  explain why your application was not accepted, i.e. what you need to work on. You are allowed to resubmit  as many times as you like. ALL submissions, even resubmissions must be received by the Fall Equinox, September  22nd, 2022.

THE PROGRAM

1) Can I participate in the program even if I do not want to teach afterwards?

Yes. You are welcome to participate in the program in order to deepen your understanding and practice of  the Wudang Martial and Healing arts. You are still required to submit a video application,.

2) What exactly is the program content?

You are paying $900 for 6 months of instruction which includes access to both of Master Bing’s Tuesday night classes, Master Bing’s Wednesday night Calligraphy class, and twice a month teacher training intensives.

3) What dates and times will we be meeting?

We will meet specifically for the Teacher Training intensives, between October 9th, 2022 and March 31st, 2023 , the 2nd and 4th week of every month. Exact time and days TBD.

4) What happens when I pass the final exam?

You will receive a signed certificate from Master Bing and will be listed on his website.

5) What happens if I don’t pass the test at the end of the program?

You will only be invited to test if Master Bing feels that you are ready!

6) Will Master Bing be offering more Teacher Training programs in the future?

Master Bing will offering the next level of  Wudang Taiji , Qigong, and Gungfu Teacher training in the Spring, starting in April, 2023, shortly after the Spring Equinox i. This Taiji 28 course is a prerequisite for both of these.
